Clay Stafford his group of American Blackguards Win Two Telly Awards

(Nashville, TN)--First you take 79,200 frames of 35mm film; add 600 minutes of filming, 42 crew members, four local actors and one Williamson County farm. You put them all together in an editing suite and eagerly await the finished result.  For author / filmmaker Clay Stafford, that result is a six-time award-winning film short entitled “Bringing Daddy Home--The Call.”  By earning two international Telly Awards, “Bringing Daddy Home-The Call” has netted Stafford and American Blackguard, Inc., his Franklin-based entertainment company, their sixth international film award.  With that distinction it also adds the American Blackguard, Inc. name to other film and television companies including E! Networks, Fox News Channel, Oprah Winfrey’s Harpo Studios, Miramax and the SciFi Channel as a Telly Award winning alum.

With two Aurora Awards, an Accolade and a Davey Award already adorning his mantle for “Bringing Daddy Home--The Call,” the two Telly Awards are another crowning achievement for both Stafford and American Blackguard, Inc.

“My goal with this project was simply to create a tool to highlight the incredible talents of Middle-Tennessee based crews and casts.  Since it was never produced to be a commercial production, to continue to receive these high honors is quite thrilling and a fitting testament to the crew’s incredible abilities,” Stafford says.

Founded in 1978, the Telly Awards are now in its twenty-seventh year.  It honors outstanding video and film productions, receiving entries from all 50 states and 30 countries around the world.
